Welcome to the on-line version of the Research Design Core Curriculum.  You will be able to access all of the Research Design Core Curriculum online. 

Goals

	Acquire skills for designing clinical research through the presentation of research design methodology.
	Produce a complete draft of a feasible research protocol.

	Review all 5 modules and complete the tests for each module before May 30th, 2008. You must pass all tests in order to pass the curriculum. If you fail one test, you will need to take it again.
	You need to submit a written research protocol before June 1st, 2008 to the Research Department, please send protocol to Dr. Obando or John Clements. The protocol should be developed based on the research you wish to do in your program during your first year in Residency.

	Course is completely online – you will not have to attend another session on research design
	You access the curriculum from the Synergy Medical web site.
	For PGY-1 Residents Only: You will have until May 30th, 2008 to complete all modules and pass all tests.  After reviewing the module, you will complete a post-test.  You must pass the post-test with at least a 70%.  If you do not pass you will be able to access the module until you do pass. All modules must be reviewed and completed and all test passed by May 30th,, 2008.
	You will receive an e-mail after each test letting you know of the results.
	You will need Adobe Acrobat on your computer to access the curriculum.
	You must use your Synergy e-mail to access this website.
	If you do not know how to access your Synergy e-mail account, please call the Information Resources Department to have them help you.  The help line phone number is 5-5669.
	A written notification will be send to you and your Department once you have completed all modules and tests.
	A final project is required, which is the completion of a written research protocol.  This is to be e-mailed to Dr. Obando or John Clements by June 1st, 2008.

Once you open up the module you will see yellow notes icons in various places.  Click on these for more information.  Questions on the post-test are taken from these notes.  In the first module you also will be able to click on two icons on the first page to download a sample of a research protocol and a format of the research protocol. 

After each module you will close the Acrobat file and you will then complete the post-test.  Once the test is complete, and it is sent to us,  you will be notified whether you passed the test.  If you did not pass, you must take it over until you get 70%.
