Dennis Boysen, M.D., F.A.C.S. is Chair of General Surgery at Synergy Medical Education Alliance. He is also an Associate Professor of Surgery at Michigan State University. He is Board Certified from the American Board of Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

Dr. Boysen was born in Madison, Nebraska and attended the University of Nebraska College in Lincoln, Nebraska. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry and zoology and met Masters requirements in biochemistry and zoology at the University of Nebraska Lincoln. Dr. Boysen received his MD degree from University of Nebraska Omaha Medical Center.

James Tschirhart, M.D., F.A.C.S. is Assistant Program Director of General Surgery at Synergy Medical Education Alliance. He is also a Clinical Associate Professor of Surgery at Michigan State University. He is Board Certified from the American Board of Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

Dr. Tschirhart attended Michigan State University where he received his B.S. and M.D. degrees. He completed his residency at Synergy Medical Education Alliance. He joined Synergy Medical Education Alliance in 2007 after 18 years of private surgical practice in Michigan.

Peter Bistolarides MD FACS is Assistant Program Director of General Surgery at Synergy Medical Education Alliance. He is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery, and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada. He currently holds the rank of Clinical Instructor in surgery at Michigan State University.

Dr. Bistolarides is a native of Toronto, Canada, and has resided in Michigan since 1994. He attended the University of Toronto and received a MD degree from its medical school, and an MBA from the business school. He completed his residency in general surgery in the University of Toronto postgraduate surgery program. He joined Synergy in 2006 after 20 years of private surgical practice in both Ontario and Michigan.
