Synergy Medical's
Knowledge Services department provides 15 rural hospitals and
healthcare organizations with access to our collection and services.
These services include: |

Reference
Assistance -
both manual reference work and computerized literature searches
are performed by the reference staff.
Photocopy Service - articles
are copied at no charge from our in-house collection
of over 300 journal subscriptions. Photocopies are mailed
within one business day or faxed the same day if needed
for patient care.
Borrowing Books - over 6,000
medical, nursing, allied health and administration/management
textbooks are available on-site for check out. Books
are mailed first class and usually arrive the next day.
Interlibrary Loans - articles
or books that are not housed in our collection can be
requested from other hospitals or university libraries
and sent to the requestor by mail or fax. Interlibrary
loans are usually filled within 3-5 business days.

There is no
charge for reference service, photocopies, or borrowing books from
our collection. Interlibrary loans are available at a cost of $10.00
each. This amount helps cover the cost we incur from libraries
that charge us to fill requests. Patrons that use our Outreach
Services will be asked if they are willing to pay the $10 fee before
we order articles from outside sources.
